I have a few thoughts about the facilities I thought I’d share with you to see if you can take them on board.
I think there should be a War of Independence portrait gallery to remember those who brought the country about.
Also there are 564 towns which would benefit from public art galleries. The sports centres are great and cater for those interested in that. Public galleries could have permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions and workshops in music, film, art and photography. There could also be trips related to the above. My projections are that they could be run for a minimum of €250,000 pa each. Perhaps people would donate buildings like Chester Beatty. A 3 storey building in a commercial district would be suitable. An area set aside for a cafe is essential so people could enjoy a coffee or little bottle of wine in a social setting.
I hope you give these ideas consideration and am sure your colleagues would think it’s a worthwhile initiative.
